So cats CAN have applesauce especially homemade applesauce or low sugar applesauce. But its a processed food and has way too many additives and sugar in for cats. It contains chemicals preservatives and unnatural coloring.
On the other hand if youre fixing homemade applesauce and your cat takes a lick or two it wont have any harmful effects as pureed foods are easier to digest for cats. Therefore giving your cat some applesauce is a clear no-no unless it is just once-in-a-while treat and the applesauce is either organic or made at home. In most cases applesauce contains other ingredients such as cinnamon or fruit pulp.
